Transparency and reflection are essential components of a successful implementation. With that in mind, we continuously welcome community feedback and input to share our collective efforts.
Some insights and opportunities from Year Three include:
- Strengthening Student Engagement: Feedback from our community highlighted clear opportunities to deepen engagement with undergraduate and graduate students. We must be more effective in conveying the impact on students in our communications, break down perceived barriers, and meet students where they are. In response to this feedback, we have formed Lehigh strategy advisory committees of undergraduate and graduate students.
- Awareness of the Strategy's Impact on Staff Morale: The Strategy has pushed us to stretch ourselves and do more, but oftentimes without additional human resources. The result has been a strain on staff morale in some areas of the university as communicated by meetings with key campus constituencies. The recently launched Lehigh Strategy Champion Awards are one way we aim to recognize faculty and staff who demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing Lehigh University’s strategic plan through their leadership, innovation, and collaboration. We will continue to be aware of this dynamic, ensure it is part of our conversations and look for additional opportunities to address or recognize it moving forward.
- Changing Landscape of Higher Education: Artificial Intelligence and changes brought about by the current administration are two major shifts in higher education which have required us to pivot in certain areas of the Strategy. These issues will continue to shape our activity as we enter Year Four.
